Laptop with a speed gauge

A laptop that takes minutes to start or freezes when you open a few browser tabs is one of the most common problems we see in Bali. The good news: most slow laptops can be made fast again without buying a new one.

1. An old hard drive (HDD)

Many laptops still use a spinning hard drive. Replacing it with an SSD is the single biggest speed upgrade: start-up drops from minutes to seconds. We copy your system and files over, so everything stays as it was.

2. Not enough RAM

With 4 GB of RAM, a modern browser and a few apps are enough to slow everything down. Upgrading to 8 or 16 GB, when your laptop supports it, makes multitasking smooth again.

3. Heat and dust

Bali’s heat and humidity are hard on laptops. When the fan and vents are blocked by dust, the processor slows itself down to avoid overheating. A cleaning and fresh thermal paste often brings back the original speed.

4. Too many start-up programs and malware

Programs that start with Windows or macOS, browser extensions and malware all run quietly in the background. We remove what you do not need and scan for anything harmful.

5. A worn-out system

After years of installs and updates, sometimes a clean reinstall is the fastest fix. We back up your data first, so nothing is lost.
